Turtle Egg picking starts this Month. We are so blessed that several turtles still lay their eggs on Kelecung Beach. This year is a little later than last year when eggs were found in February and this year starts in May. But we found more turtle nests and more eggs than last year, we are so happy.
As we know the turtle only lay their eggs in special places. Some human activities like ATV bikes on the sand, garbage, and weather may bother the turtle habitats so they don’t want to come to our place to lay the eggs. But we are glad that Kelecung Beach is still being chosen by the turtles.
The program from our Yayasan is still the same as before. Those who found the turtle nest will get money as a reward IDR 2000/Egg. Please contact us if you found any turtle nests near Kelecung Beach. Our staff and Bunda team will pick up and maintain the turtle until its releases to the sea again.
We get 315 turtles eggs total in 4 days and we hope more…
